Toowoomba Grammar School Swimming club claimed swimmers claimed three national titles and a nice haul of medals at the Australian Swimming Age Championships on the Gold Coast earlier this month.

Sienna Duerloo cemented her position as one of Australia’s best up and coming long distance swimmers. She is now a National Champion after swimming away with two golds – winning both the 800m and 1500m in the 17 years girls freestyle.

Mackenzie Grimes is also a National Champion after collecting gold in the 14 years 200m backstroke. Mackenzie then went on to win silver in the 50m backstroke event.

And Lachlan McNamee proudly won bronze in the 16-18 years multi-class 50m butterfly.

20 TGS swimmers competed at the event from April 7-15, with most of them enjoying their best meet and achieving PBs despite not medalling.

The Toowoomba Grammar School Swimming Club is open to boys and girls from the age of six months for Learn to Swim lessons, through to open age competitive swimmers.
