How we will communicate with you

The School has dedicated channels for communicating with parents. All parents are encouraged to regularly access the following sources of information.

‘The Blue and Gold’ and ‘TGS Boarders’ Telegraph’ newsletters

Published every fortnight during the school term and sent via email (and also published on the TGS App), these newsletters include: 

  • Messages from staff 
  • Information on topical issues 
  • School news 
  • Events and activities 
  • Achievements of boys and staff 
  • Sport and activities news. 

TGS App

The TGS App is updated daily, and parents are encouraged to subscribe to relevant notifications. The App can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. 

The TGS App includes:

  • Key dates (Junior School and Senior School) 
  • Events 
  • Operational information about rehearsals, training, games, co-curricular bus times, events impacted by weather, etc 
  • Reminders 
  • School calendar (this calendar is regularly updated and should always be used to double check dates)
  • The Blue and Gold newsletter 
  • The Boarders’ Telegraph newsletter
  • Access to Parent Lounge 
  • Contacts
  • Links to useful resources.

Parent Lounge 

The Parent Lounge can be accessed via the Parent Lounge link under the Quick Links tab on the School’s website or via the link on the TGS App. The Parent Lounge is a secure site that provides centralised information and forms for all TGS parents.

The Parent Lounge includes:

  • Academic reports 
  • Student timetable 
  • Parent teacher interview information 
  • Fee and account details 
  • Medical details 
  • Parent contact details 
  • Entering absences and absentee reporting 
  • Events and payments  
  • Teacher email addresses 
  • School calendar (regularly updated)
  • School information .

Please note, new parents with boys starting at the School in 2025 will be provided access to Parent Lounge on Monday, 6 January 2025.

TGS Social Media Channels

Parents are encouraged to follow TGS on social media and share our good news stories.

Year Level Facebook Groups and Boarding Facebook Groups

  • Most year levels have a closed Facebook group for parents, enabling them to ask questions of other parents, share information and keep in touch. These are not School-endorsed groups however a member of staff does moderate each group.
  • Once the school year starts and you wish to join a Facebook group, please search for your year level on Facebook. Examples of group names include Toowoomba Grammar School Year 6 2025, Toowoomba Grammar School – Year 3 2025, Toowoomba Grammar Year 7 2025.
  • The Junior School Supporters’ Group also has a private Facebook group that all Junior School parents are welcome to join. It can be found at Toowoomba Grammar Junior School Supporters | Facebook
  • Boarding parents are welcome to join a closed Facebook group for current boarding parents which can be found at TGS Boarding Parents | Facebook
  • Some boarding houses have their own closed Facebook groups for parents. Boarding parents should check with their son’s Head of House.

TGS Blog

Each week we publish a new blog, written by TGS staff and sometimes students, focusing on different aspects of School life, our people, our programs and our values.

SchoolTV

SchoolTV is an online resource designed to empower parents with credible and sound information, and realistic and practical ongoing support strategies. Topics covered include cybersafety, mental health, healthy bodies and positive parenting, etc.
