Helpful information for new boarding families
Boarding Preparation
Our boarding staff have put together some top tips to help your son and family get ready for boarding school.
The Boarder Parents’ Support Group has also put together a list of their top tips to help parents on their boarding journey.
Years 5, 6 and 7 Boarders - Corfe House
Our younger boarders live in Corfe House. For parents, your first point of call will normally be through the Corfe Boarding Head of House, Mr Henry White.
While your son will receive pastoral care from the Corfe Boarding Head of House, your son's day-to-day pastoral care while at School will be through his Mentor and classroom teacher.
To prepare your son for his first term of boarding, download the following documents:
Parents may also like to explore the boarder induction resources available from the Australian Boarding Schools Association.
Boarder Parents' Support Group
Boarding parents are encouraged to join the Boarder Parents’ Support Group. The group offers both new and old families a great opportunity to meet other parents from across all of the boarding houses as well as have the chance to hear from the Headmaster, Director of Boarding and other key TGS staff, and to provide feedback and suggestions on boarding in a relaxed forum.
As a TGS Boarding parent you will be automatically part of the Boarder Parents' Support Group, to participate parents should come along to the meetings or join the meetings online via the Teams link sent to all parents.

REACH Boarding Management System
REACH is the platform we use to keep track of each boarder’s location on and off the TGS campus, as well as manage leave requests with parents.
You will access REACH using the same credentials as Parent Lounge. There will be a ‘Parent Login’ button that will appear and this is what you should use. This single sign on (SSO) will make your engagement with TGS online platforms easier and simpler with one username and password for all. New parents will be provided with Parent Lounge login details on Monday, 6 January 2025.
